Remember, it's not the number of “hits” your
website gets that's important. Rather, it's the quality of these hits
and how the site serves to enhance client relationships and generate new
business.
Each website is designed to be an active working website. You
can use the website’s features on a daily basis to obtain information
about daily GIC rates, obtain fund values, conduct sales presentations
on life insurance products using the on-line presentation features, conduct
research in the Resource Centre and offer clients access to the most competitive
mortgage rates in the business.
Here are a few simple promotional ideas:
1. First,
"web brand" your business. Web branding means placing your website
and email address on all your materials such as business cards, letterhead,
and advertising materials. Follow the lead of the large financial and
life insurance firms -- they web brand everything they do!
2. Use your email software to build an email distribution
list of all your clients who have email. Make sure to capture email addresses
for all clients.
3.
Once your site is activated send all your clients an email inviting them
to visit your website. Ask them to send you their comments on it. Then
tell us, we'd appreciate the feedback too!
4. Closely look at your client list and identify those
clients that are prospects for additional life insurance policies. Depending
on your assessment of a client you can contact them and recommend that
they check out your website’s On-Line Presentations on various types
of policies. Then do a follow-up with them.
5. After reviewing your client list focus on those clients
that may need a mortgage. Contact them by telephone or email and recommend
the benefits to them of making an on-line application for a mortgage through
your website.
6.
If you distribute a newsletter, send it to your clients as an email attachment.
You can also ask them if they still want to receive a paper version and
if not, you can remove them from your mailing list. You may be surprised
at how many people will want to reduce the amount of paper coming to their
homes. This will reduce your mailing costs too.
